What is a Supporter/Donor?

Fundraiser Supporter/Donors are the individuals that Fundraiser Participants solicit financial contributions from, either through online cash or product sale donations (depending on the method selected for the fundraiser).

They will receive either an email or text message invitation to view your fundraiser Donation page depending on the method you used to add and invite them.

Steps to Donate

Step 1: Accept "Become a Donor" Invitation

Once received via email or text message, the donor contact should click the "Accept Invitation" button to log in and view the fundraiser Donation page using their personalized tracking link. This enables us to track their personal shares to other donors in their network. Which is awesome for you!

They can use the share feature to promote it through their social media networks.

Step 2: Make a Donation to the Program

From the program's Store page, a donor can see all of the available fundraisers, tickets, and other products available for purchase, as well as more information about the organization.

If they click through on a fundraising campaign, event, or item, they can see  more information about the particular fundraiser via a written description, as well as a photo gallery and video links if provided.

As a Donor, they will see the Participant's name listed on each item in the store. That way, as they add items to their cart, those purchases will count towards that Participant's fundraising goal.

If they decide to purchase a product item from this store, then a ‘commission’ portion of the sale proceeds will go towards the organization’s cause. Products can be any physical items that are delivered/shipped to a donor such as cookie dough, wrapping paper, poinsettias, OR a service item like a car wash or spaghetti dinner taking place on a particular date.

Important Note - keep in mind that when conducting product-based fundraisers, Simple Raise does not handle the following tasks: order status tracking, fulfillment, delivery, cancellations, or refunds. Currently, the platform is designed to handle product or service items that you have on hand or via group order that can be picked up/redeemed by your donors.

Proceed to Checkout

Once a donor has added items to their cart; tickets for an event, products, or a fundraiser donation amount, they will click on the "Start Checkout" button to proceed to the next page.

They will see their Summary at the top of the page, where they can make edits to their cart, as well as the opportunity to include a Tip to help us keep Simple Raise free for Programs to use.

Once they have reviewed their cart and decided what/if to tip, they can click the "Proceed to Checkout" button for the final step in the process.

Once they are on the Checkout page, they will need to enter their email and choose a payment method. Once this added, and they have added their billing address and checked the order summary, they can click "Process Payment".


NOTE! If the supporter/donor cannot process payment, they might have a required field that they missed and need to fill out in order to proceed.

Order Receipt

Upon completion of the online payment, the donor will see a Thank You screen pop-up and receive either an email or text notification containing their cash donation receipt.


Supporter/Donor Contact Notifications During the Fundraiser

During an active fundraiser, a donor may receive the following notifications from Simple Raise:

  • Invitation to Donate (sent because a participant added them as a donor contact)
  • Reminder to Donate (sent because a donor has not yet made a donation)
  • Donation Receipt Confirmation (sent because the donor made a purchase on that program's store page towards a participant)

Need to Opt-Out as a Supporter/Donor Contact?

Supporters/Donor contacts who no longer wish to receive notifications via text message can reply STOP and also update their profile with their email address if they prefer only to receive email notifications.
